Pooboo Folding Exercise Bike Review

Introduction to Pooboo’s 4-in-1 Folding Bike

There are quite a few foldable exercise bikes that you can buy for your home, but Pooboo have developed a bike that will give you lots more workout options than your standard model.

That’s because the Pooboo 4-in-1 Folding Exercise Bike has a back support on the seat so that it can be used as either an upright bike or a semi-recumbent bike, and comes with resistance bands that will enable you to perform an arm workout and a shoulder workout while you exercise, giving you an effective full body workout.

There is also an upgraded 5-in-1 model that will enable you to get a back workout as well, which I will discuss at the end of this article, but let’s take a closer look at Pooboo’s original 4-in-1 foldable bike first of all.

  • 5-level adjustable seat with backrest and arm supports
  • can be used as upright bike or semi-recumbent bike

  • includes water bottle holder and transport wheels
  • can be used by anyone between 4’11 and 6’3
  • accommodates users up to 300 lbs
  • available in a choice of colors

Product Dimensions / Weight

This Pooboo 4-in-1 exercise bike has product dimensions (in inches) of 43.7″(H) x 27.56″(L) x 20.47″(W) when it is fully assembled, and measures 51.18″(H) x 14.96″(L) x 15.95″(W) when it is folded away.

It weighs around 19.32 kg and has a high quality steel frame that can support users up to 300 lbs.

Positives

The main benefit of this Pooboo foldable bike is that it gives you a range of different workout options, unlike a more traditional upright bike.

If you want to get an intense exercise bike workout, you can of course sit in an upright position or lean forward and pedal as hard as you can, but this machine also comes with a back support and arm rests that will enable you to sit back and exercise in a semi-recumbent position, which many people find to be more comfortable.

In addition, this machine also comes with a set of resistance bands, and these bands can be attached to the bike to give you a decent upper body workout at the same time.

There are metal loops located on the base and the frame of the bike where you can attach these bands, and you can then perform various different exercises to help strengthen your arms and shoulders.

This stationary bicycle has 8 levels of magnetic resistance, with levels 1-3 suggested for your warm-up, 4-6 for endurance and 7-8 for a really intense workout.

So there is a wide range of resistance for people of all fitness levels. Older users and people recovering from injury may prefer to sit in a semi-recumbent position and exercise on the lower resistance levels, while other users may prefer taking on the more demanding settings from 4-8 in an upright position, for example.

The flywheel is dust, sweat and rust-resistant, ensuring that it will last a long time, and it is very smooth in operation. Furthermore, at less than 20 decibels, it is also exceptionally quiet, which means that you won’t disturb any of your fellow housemates.

If you want to track your performance, there is an LCD display that will indicate time, speed, distance and calories burned, and if you place your hands on the pulse sensors on the handlebars, it will also display your heart rate as well.

This display unit also has a holder for your phone or iPad device, which means that it is easy to keep yourself entertained during your workouts.

There are a couple of other useful features worth mentioning, such as the water bottle holder and the transport wheels on the front of the bike that will make it easier to move around from one room to another.

The frame itself is also made from thicker steel that is strong enough to support any user up to 300 lbs, and many users between 4’11 and 6’3 should be able to use this bike comfortably.

Finally, it is worth adding that this Pooboo bike has been designed to be folded away very easily when it is not being used, and as mentioned above, it has a footprint of just 51.18″(H) x 14.96″(L) x 15.95″(W) when it is folded away, so it won’t take up a lot of space in your home.

Negatives

One minor drawback of this machine is that as is the case with many folding bikes, it is not suitable for everyone. Heavier users over 300 lbs will not be able to use this machine because of the weight restriction and exceptionally tall or short users (over 6’3 or under 4’11) may struggle to find a comfortable riding position.

Another minor complaint concerns the tablet holder because although it is a nice feature to have, if you actually place your phone or tablet on this holder, you will block the LCD display and won’t be able to monitor your performance. So it would have been better if it had been placed elsewhere so you can view both at the same time.

Apart from these two minor issues, there do not appear to be any major problems with this machine.

Final Thoughts

Overall, when you consider the low price of this Pooboo foldable 4-in-1 exercise bike, it is fair to say that you get a lot for your money.

Not only do you have a fully functioning foldable upright bike that you can use at your convenience, but you also have a comfortable semi-recumbent bike as well, giving you twice the workout options. Plus you also get a pair of resistance bands that you can attach to this bike to strengthen your arms and shoulders to give you a complete full body workout.

Combine that with a smooth and quiet workout experience and a wide range of resistance levels to satisfy people of all fitness levels, and you have one of the best folding bikes currently on the market.

Also Available – Pooboo 5-in-1 Folding Exercise Bike

If you are prepared to pay a little more, you may also be interested in the new 5-in-1 folding exercise bike from Pooboo.

This one is very similar to the 4-in-1 model above, but this one enables you to perform back workouts in addition to arm and shoulder workouts.

That’s because extra metal loops have been added to the base of the seat and a new back training structure has been added to the frame to give you even more workout options.
